Last Dance at the Sundance Stompede
From Queertactics
For 27 years, the SUNDANCE STOMPEDE was a home for queer line-dance-enthusiasts. In 2023, San Francisco heard the call one last time: Howdy! Pull on your boots and hit the dance floor! More than 800 people from around the world came together for four days of workshops and performances. The film follows 15 participants through this special weekend, capturing their personal stories, thoughts, and reflections. It also features Firebrand, Chicago’s LGBTIAQ+ country-western dance group, and local dancer Herb Moore. But LAST DANCE AT THE SUNDANCE STOMPEDE is more than a farewell party in cowboy boots. It reveals how dancing together can build community, heal bodies and minds, and create spaces where people feel free to be themselves and connect with others. A heartfelt love letter to the places that bring us together—and an invitation to pull on your boots and cut loose: Queer joy at its best!
